As an immediate response to the pronouncement of President Rodrigo Duterte in his SONA on Monday, TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña ordered the agency's regional and provincial offices to establish their own Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) desks.
Apart from the OFW Desk, Lapeña also directed all TESDA offices to designate OFW focal persons who will prioritize all the concerns of the OFWs by providing information about the TESDA's programs and services and making sure that they will be included in TESDA scholarship programs.
Also, additional online courses are currently being developed for the benefit of returning or displaced OFWs.
